Loving Our Neighbors, Right Here at Home

"Love one another, just as I have loved you." - John 13:34

At St. Helena's, we believe the Gospel isn't just something we hear on Sundays — it's something we live out every day, in our neighborhoods, schools, and community spaces. LOVE Beaufort is our local missions ministry, and it exists because we're called to love our neighbors the way Jesus loves us.
Led by Jai Dowell, our Director of Local Missions, LOVE Beaufort connects St. Helena's with the people and organizations already doing meaningful work in our area — and invites you to be part of it. Whether you're new to faith, new to Beaufort, or just looking for a place to put your hands to work, there's a place for you here.

Get Involved

We partner with a number of local organizations and host our own community gatherings throughout the year. Here's a look at the ways you can show up and serve:
Good News Club
During the school year, servant leaders from our parish meet with students from Beaufort Elementary to share the Gospel through games, stories, and fun.
Washington Street Park
On the second Friday of each month, a team from St. Helena's prepares and serves a hot meal at Washington Street Park. Come hungry to serve.
Treasure House Thrift
Our own thrift store is a place where neighbors find deals — and where they find people who genuinely care about them. A warm, friendly way to serve during the week.
CAPA
We come alongside young people in the community through volunteer activities with CAPA, an organization dedicated to supporting at-risk youth.
HELP of Beaufort
A local food pantry serving families in need. Donations of food and funds go a long way in this community.
Long Table Gathering
A few times a year, we pull tables out into the street and invite the whole neighborhood to join us for a potluck meal. It's exactly what it sounds like — a long table, good food, and even better company. Everyone's welcome.
Back to School Bash
Every summer before school starts, we throw a little festival for kids in need — complete with a jump castle, face painting, snow cones, and a brand new backpack full of supplies. It's one of our favorite days of the year.
Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Each November, we serve a full Thanksgiving meal to around 500 members of our community. It takes months of preparation and a whole lot of people — and it's worth every bit of it.
Nursing Home Ministry
If you have a heart for our elderly neighbors, this one's for you. We lead worship services, run bingo nights, and visit parishioners in local nursing homes. Simple presence means everything.
